At the Kindergarten we aim to nurture every child to grow to their full potential through play in a safe and caring environment.
Through play the children develop confidence and the skills to prepare them for school. They enjoy a wide range of activities including painting, cooking, stories and water play. Outside, the children play with sand, tricycles, and balance bikes, and regularly explore the school grounds and local area.

Sessions are held every weekday during term time, at the following times:
Monday: 9.00 – 12.00 or 9.00 – 3.00
Tuesday: 9.00 – 12.00 or 9.00 – 3.00
Wednesday: 9.00 – 12.00 or 9.00 – 1.00
Thursday: 9.00 – 12.00 or 9.00 – 1.00
Friday: 9.00 – 12.00
The Kindergarten is a member of PATA which supports and develops high quality childcare, education, training and play.

Kindergarten staff
All Kindergarten staff have enhanced CRB checks and are fully trained in first aid, child protection and food hygiene.
Rosemary Gotts: Play leader
After training as a nursery and infant teacher Rosemary taught for nine years in Essex and then Bristol. She started at the Kindergarten in 1993 when it opened and her children were both in primary school. Rosemary is responsible for the day to day organisation and planning of the sessions and behaviour management. She loves to see how the children gain in independence during their time at the Kindergarten.
Sue Macey: Deputy Play leader
After training as a teacher Sue went to work for a large telecommunication company. When her children were nursery age she started work in childcare and has worked continuously ever since. Sue finds her role as Deputy Play Leader interesting and fulfilling and she loves working with the children. Sue is the designated Child Protection Officer within the group.
Erica Stokes: Play Assistant
Erica started working as a childminder in 2005, completing the cache level 3 in home-based child care at Stroud College. In 2008 Erica started working at the Kindergarten as a Play Assistant and completed the training to work as the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator which she has found to be an interesting and rewarding responsibility.
Raija Fleming: Play Assistant
Through childminding Raija came to work in childcare in 2003. She completed an NVQ level 3 in Children’s Care, Development and Learning and worked at other settings before joining the Kindergarten in October 2009. Raija is also qualified in Makaton sign language, which helps support children’s communication skills.
